This blog will be low activity at times. I run a few other blogs, I run a business irl, and I deal with a few mental and physical health issues. I have ADHD, OCD, severe anxiety, major depressive disorder, and recurrent anemia, all of which affect my activity. My portrayal is almost entirely headcanon-based. I write the Kwannon Incarnation of Psylocke, NOT Betsy Braddock. My biggest comic inspiration for Psylocke's character is the Fallen Angels mini-series that was published in 2020.__ __

I am not entirely caught up on events in 616 as a whole (especially when it comes to the new stuff with Krakoa) but I am slowly making my way through the material. Please be patient with me because I'm bound to make mistakes / not know things.__ __
I am Marvel critical, especially when it comes to the Betsy/Kwannon body swap. No, I don't disregard it from my canon and I think it could have worked as an arc under different circumstances, but I think the writers handled it poorly and were overtly racist at certain points. This will come into play when I write metas from time to time so be aware of that if you don't like negative media criticism. [If you want a more in-depth explanation, see this post.]

MAINS & SHIPPING

This blog is MULTIVERSE and MULTISHIP. All interactions happen in their own contained universes unless agreed otherwise. You CAN specifically reference my Psylocke and events in our threads in your other threads and headcanons if you want, provided we have established interactions between our muses. Pls do I think it's so neat sdfklj__ __
I am open to mains. I am tentatively open to exclusivity, but only if we mesh well enough IC and OOC. I am open to ship-based exclusivity (not shipping with different portrayals of the same canon character, etc). I accept up to two mains for each canon character (three under special circumstances) and I will only ship with different versions of the same character if I feel like we've built up a unique dynamic. If you want to be mains, feel free to come talk to me about it.__ __
I ship based on chemistry. As long as the chemistry exists and we both agree that we want to ship (or test a potential ship), I’m fine with jumping right into things or a slow burn, whichever you prefer. Or both! We can jump around in the timeline as much as we want. And I'm not only talking about romantic ships. I crave rich dynamics of ALL kinds, because having an established dynamic between our muses where we know who they are to each other and how they interact makes things easier when it comes to threads. Nothing inspires me more, so I highly encourage you to come chat with me about how our muses will mesh just to establish a baseline dynamic to work off of!__ __
Psylocke is not flirtatious by personality, but as a trained assassin, she is willing to use flirtation to get what she wants. Flirtation on her part is not me trying to force a ship. She may be expressing genuine interest or she may be trying to manipulate your muse; it all depends on context.__ __
I’m open to smut, I like writing it, but I also need to feel like our interactions as a whole have a purpose beyond that. So long as I feel like you're not after my muse just for the smut, we're fine. And sometimes I like those one-off Spicy threads too, y'know? Likewise, if we have a ship but you are uncomfortable with smut, we can fade to black if things get heated or avoid such a situation entirely. It's definitely not a requirement.__ __
Any smut that does happen on this blog will be tagged accordingly and put under a cut, and I ask that my partners do the same if only in threads with me. I don’t mind seeing uncut smut on the dash, my main concern is that I interact with people who don’t like seeing it uncut, so I like to do it for the sake of courtesy to them. I'm fine moving smutty things to discord if that's your preference as well. Also, and it should go without saying, but I WILL NOT write smut with underage muses or muns, and I also will not age up muses for smut.

As a side note, it makes me uncomfortable to tag images of people's bodies with anything related to the term "eating disorder", so instead I will tag them as body image tw. Please block that tag if this is one of your triggers because I am not comfortable with tagging those images with the aforementioned terms due to my own experiences with eating disorders.__ __
While most of these aren’t necessarily triggers, I am unnerved by / uncomfortable with the following and would like them tagged:
- Animal abuse or death
- Conspiracy theories
- OOC and IC mentions of substance use (except for alcohol; that doesn't bother me) or getting high. Weed in particular squicks me due to some nasty irl experiences that I'd rather not delve into.
- Things related to a nuclear apocalypse.
- Anything anti-religious. That being said, there's a difference between being critical of religious institutions (which is perfectly acceptable) and being dismissive or outright hateful towards people of faith. Please note that I will unfollow / will not follow if the latter is a constant OOC recurrence on your blog, even if tagged.

I'm horrible at communication. My anxiety is severe and is sometimes so bad that I struggle to hold a conversation. I'm not good at approaching first, either. I rarely do it. I don't do passwords; I don't have one and I don't send them in. It's an anxiety thing. However, I also know that breaking the ice can be hard sometimes, so if at any time you want to chat or plot but you're shy or don't know what to say, send a cute cat pic to my IM! It doesn't have to be your cat; you can just pick one off of the internet. It makes no difference to me. I love cats, and they are always a good icebreaker!

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TELEPATHY: Psylocke is a powerful telepath, but her powers are more akin to that of an empath than the way most other known telepaths use their abilities. Psylocke is not actively reading minds (nor is she always capable of doing so) so per my headcanons, most of the time unless she's in direct physical contact with them or is purposefully trying to break into their mind, she cannot read their thoughts. What she CAN sense is how they feel, and this can extend to knowing the source of the feelings, but that depends on the individual and how strong their subconscious resistance is. I will always ask when including plot points about Psylocke knowing your muse's current emotions / reading their mind so as not to assume what your muse is feeling outside of what you have already expressed within the thread. (For example, if you give indication that your muse is angry in a thread, I will assume it's okay for Psylocke to feel that they are angry, but anything more than that I will ask you about.)__ __

I'm a weenie and most likely won't be interacting with duplicates often if at all. I won't follow any duplicates first, and I'm hesitant to follow back unless I already know you or we interact elsewhere. This is a safe space for myself and others. I hate drama, and if you are the type of person that likes to surround yourself in it, I don't want your vibes near me tbh. I don't like callout culture as a whole, I think public empathy gets abused easily and a lot of callouts are superfluous, but I do think that sometimes it is necessary when it comes to exposing abusive, predatory, or otherwise abhorrent behavior. There is definitely a difference between exposing a dangerous or nasty individual and screaming on the dash about personal slights that could have been handled in private, though, so if you do the latter, that's a hard block.__ __
